Bought this soundbar new. Within a month, the sound would randomly cut out. Started the series of calls to their customer service dept that lasted over a year as they initially blamed the tv (samsung), tivo, and my cable company.

Cable company visited 25+ times, with 2 techs and a supervisor over 2-3 months. Tivo says not them, as the sound plays perfectly when we back up the Tivo and replay. Samsung tv not the issue as disconnecting the soundbar from the tv plays the sound perfectly thru the tv speakers.

Changed the hookup method 2x after Vizio customer service advice, and bought new cords 2x. Yesterday, finally, they agree to swap out the soundbar...conveniently AFTER the warranty has expired. Soooo....sorry, they will not honor it now, even though we have been actively working towards a solution, which is well documented thru their call center, for over 14 months.

Anyone know a good lawyer?

I have no problem spending much more in order to get them to refund this. Principles, sir, principles!


Forget about a lawyer for something that cost but $400. Just remember that Vizio is not a brand to be relied on for either quality nor reliability.

Buy a major brand soundbar and get on with life. Consumers might wish to reflect on just why the Vizio brand is cheap to buy in the first place.
