I purchased this 42" VIZIO 3D LCD TV 13 months ago for a bit over $900. It worked great when I turned it off and went to bed. When I got up today to watch the weather before leaving the house it was completely dead, of course the waranty had expired a month earlier.
I'm 62 and live alone so this television has never been abused in any way.
I called VIZIO tech support and they walked me thru a hard reset which did nothing. It has worked relatively fine and now totally dead except for the Vizio logo light coming on when I plug it in.
Tech support said they would come out and repair it for around $300. and warranty their work for 90 days.
I enjoyed this tv but if the life expectancy of a $900 Vizio tv is 13 months I will definitely switch brands rather then pay $300 more for another 3 months of warranted use! Unacceptable!!
I would highly recomend purching an extended waranty for any VIZIO TV.
