Just over a year old and half the screen is dark, called customer service and since its over a year the suggested I buy a new one. The customer service is not really service. Unplug your tv and hold the power button for 5 seconds and then plug back in....... That was there helpful tip on magicaly fixing a 2000.00 dollar tv. Unbelievable. Guess I will just buy the cheap ones and throw them away yearly.

When going to one channell to the next channell it turns off. It will come back on in ten minutes by itself. This should not be happening .I should be able to enjoy this tv for many years. Waste of money. Never buy another vizio tv. Cheap parts and should not be in business. Too many people are complaining about their tv.

Vizio Smart TV Died, worst customer service ever

Bought Vizio 70" smart TV. It worked great for 7 months and then picture went out and has not worked again. Called Vizio they had to send a tech out. Two weeks later the tech showed up with a new part, installed it and TV worked for about a minute and same thing happened, picture went black. Now Vizio wants to exchange what I bought as new with a refurbished TV. Explained that if i had wanted refurbished I would have taken the savings myself but regardless of what was said Vizio could have cared less. Said OK to refurbished to see what they would do. Now it is close to the middle of April and have had no TV since February. Company finally came to deliver, and brought wrong TV. Said would return next day, no show no call. Supposed to deliver a week later no show. Still no TV. Called Vizio and their statement was what do you want us to do? It was all I could do not to tell them where to put .... two months nothing!!!

Vizio in Houston, Texas - Poor Quality, Will Not Stand Behind Product

I was unfortunate enough to decide to by 3 vizio large screen TV's. One broke within 90 days. They replaced it with a refurb. The other has sound that cuts out and all they want to do is make adjustments, will not send someone to look. Bought both at Best Buy. The third has no picture at all and is 6 months old. Now they say the electronics store where P purchased this one is not one of their dealers and will not provide any service. These are the worst televisions on the market and poor warranty back up to no warranty at all at their discretion. Stay away from this company

I don't recommend Vizio because of it's low quality. It may cost less than some, but in my experience they do not hold up and customer service is almost non-existent.

Best to get a brand like Panasonic, RCA, etc. They are all made in China or somewhere in Asia, but the name-brands have better materials and have better quality control. I never buy any appliance that says it was made in China. That, to me indicates an inferior product.

Sony is assembled in Mexico to a great extent and some Sharp products are made in Japan---which is the best place if you can find these products. Malaysia is ok, as is Taiwan, just stay away from all China products.

@nikalseyn

The Vizio that you knock is made on the other side of the assembly plant (in China or Mexico) of where your RCA is made. Some of the workers will be doing RCA before lunch and Vizio after.

I would recommend contacting the retailer. They sold the product and if Best Buy wants your return business they will take care of you.

Costco and Sam's have each taken care of and replaced with new my Vizio Smart TV and Soundbar (respectively) when I started having problems after 14 months. :cry

Vizio in Conroe, Texas - 65 inch 'smart TV' is dummer than a rock.

Vizio advertised and sold this 60" 'smart TV' that will not connect to the Internet for web surfing. They restrict access to a very few selected sites that you can go to. They also selected Yahoo as the provider....and Yahoo quit supporting what they supplied to Vizio. Vizio is the worst company to do business with and has the worst products on the market. They will not accept the fact that people want a smart TV to be able to surf the web. They don't care and will not change their beliefs. If you have TiVo through your internet provider then you can browse the internet. But Vizio is too *** and SET IN THEIR WAYS that they will not spend the few dollars to do what TiVo was able to do easily. Overall Vizio sucks....but be aware that most so called 'smart TV's' are just like this. The manufacturers want you to only access what they want you to access and not the whole Internet.

Did you know that there's a thing called, "specifications" on the outside of the box? Usually key specs are on the front bottom panel of the box, and then listed in detail on side and reverse?

IF NO BOX IS AVAILABLE RIGHT THERE::: you "google"(or ask someone, or find out somewhere) the model of the tv with specs and you find out if it's as smart as you want it to be.

Ignorance isn't a product defect or flaw!

Most smart tv's come preconfig'd to certain products for surfing the web and downloading apps, according to its firmware restrictions.

Most smart tv's should be reviewed before purchase, so that you get a tv that's config'd to your desired use, or to see if there's upgradeable firmware//addon abilities to mod your tv to your desired wants and needs.

It's just like buying a phone or tablet, etc, etc, if you buy a smart tv and then find you don't like the addons and limitations that particular config offers, it's your problem, not the dealers.

I have heard people complain about the limitations of their smart tv's, but in the end, that's all it is, a complaint about not a specific defect or quality build but of it not coming config'd to their liking.

If this happens, return the item immediately and buy the tv you want/need; if you can't find the config you want, then a dumb tv coupled with smart dongle or box will suffice.

Smart tv's with built in modules and systems are very limited unless you know how to root them and mod them to your liking, but then again, there are limitations to what a built in system can do, low ram, no addon port for memory, no peripheral support if any, etc, etc, etc. Smart tv's are for basic wifi abilities, and connecting them to external mirroring devices and peripherals to the mirrored device is usually why someone buys a smart tv.

BUT then there are those other people, that think it's going to be able to surf the web and do things it is not designed to do. That is not a defect it's what a smart tv actually is.

First of All, the original posters concludes by saying "but be aware that most so called "smart TV's are just like this." If that is the case, then what is your complaint. You appear to be complaining more about a Label, "Smart TV" than a particular manufacturer. And, if you just READ the outside of the BOX or do a little internet research BEFORE you make your purchase, you wouldn't be able to blame a manufacturer for your ignorance.

I had the same experience an another poster about Vizio's 60 inch smart TV. And I do agree it is dumber than a rock.

Vizio is a do nothing give nothing and screw the customers kind of company. Paid over $1000 for this tv and only able to get a few 'selected' internet channels.

I predict that Vizio will not even exist in 3-5 years. A company can not continually screw the customer and win....

Vizio TV remote didn't work and we've been given the run around

Here is the email I wrote them. It is a brand new TV, and I'd like to have the orginal remote. "Dear ViZio,We recently purchased a Vizio TV, and after hours on the phone with a Vizio tech we were told it was the remote and that we would be sent one at no cost to us. Then, days later we were told that we had to produce a receipt, something we were not told the first time around. Here is the date of purchase, purchased through Geeks on my Amazon account." Then I copy and pasted the receipt. We have a brand new tv and haven't been able to have a remote to use with it. My order was shipped on February 18, 2013: QUESTIONS?
