I have a Vizio 23" and 42" smart the 23" will not power on, and the 42" powers off and on about 5 times in an hour. The only help support could offer was power cycle and resetting the tv's, granted the tv's are 3yrs old but that is all you have to offer. I have an 10 year LCD LG not one issue. The internet is loaded with the same issue's with your products, so the quality of the products I could not recommend.

Vizio review in East Rochester, New York: Ridiculous!!!

On labor day my family and I were watching a movie when we heard a loud pop and sizzling then then formed multiple colors on the screen. I've been dealing with Vizio customer service for 5 days now, just for them to say there's a point of impact! When nothing was thrown at my television. They won't send a tec hnician and are very rude to deal with. I only owned this TV for 6 months and completely waisted 1300 dollars!! I will never buy another product of theirs and definitely wouldn't recommend one to anybody! It doesn't matter how many people you can think of to talk to, there "level 3 technicians" made an assumption and don't want to back it up! Would you send an innocent person to jail without supporting documents? I wouldn't beg them for a technician if I new it was because of impact! I would look like a jack ***!!!

About the same story here. Only had the tv for about 4 months vizio won't do anything because they say physical force had to of some it..

It happened when no one was home. Did you get anywhere with vizio?

Not happy with vizio

I have a vizio M470sv that is only 14 months old and last night i have this real big grey line going down on my left side screen.i called vizio and was told that i can call a tech to come look at it at my cost now we have a broken tv at home and they don't care and im screwed i will never buy a vizio item again so please go online and check for your self and you will see that we are not the only ones that have had problems with vizio so good luck with your tv.

Vizio review in Brooklyn, New York: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

I received a smart 60' vizio tv for Christmas and 7 months later the screen went black, but I still had sound. So I cut the TV off and of course it never came back on. When I got home from work I called Vizio the rep stated that after 500 or 5000 hours the chip goes out, so now they are making new chips to replace the old ones. She puts my order in to get a refurbish tv with the new chip. I get the new TV and I call Vizio, I tell the rep that I want my warranty to start from today since I received a NEW TV she stated that it doesn't start over that's our policy. I ask to speak to a Supervisor/ Manger and she stated that's there policy. I stated that's not fair to the customer, because if this should happen again with the NEW TV then the customer is A****D OUT. This is a NEW TV with a NEW CHIP, it's like a new purchase. She said she will send me a letter with the new warranty date starting today, I will not hold my breath. If this should ever happen to anyone just request your money back!!!!

A warranty provides a specified interval of service for a product. One year means 12 months.

Getting a new, refurb or other exchange item during this period does not entitle purchaser to a new warranty. The same applies to extended warranty contracts.

Only the amount of time stated is purchased by consumer, not one minute more than listed. Read the warranty policy before making the purchase, then buy based on what meets your requirements.

I bought a Vizio 42" last Fall. Within a month the audio failed when changing channels, and the TV had to be unplugged (wouldn't respond to remote or power button on the back) to be reset.

Vizio sent out a repairman who changed out much of the machine, but the problem persisted...and still persists.

They refuse to do anything about it because "it's now out of warranty" - by 2 weeks. When I pointed out that the issue started a month after purchase (last October, well before the warranty ran out) and is still not fixed, their response remained "It's Vizio's policy that repairs must be made within the warranty period.

How Vizio got on JD Power's lists is beyond me - the units are sub-par and the Customer Service unprofessional.

Wow...that is a bummer, Nick. You know, a Manufacturer's Limited Warranty starts when you first buy the product and you have to let the Manufacturer know you are having problems as soon as they start. It protects YOUR RIGHTS by calling them!

My 60" Vizio was having the same problems you describe. My kid brother was staying over and didn't like the FIOS choices so he hooked up an antenna, ran a channel scan and watched over-the-air TV (I call it Plain Vanilla TV). No problems with the audio when changing channels, too. Weird.

When I called Vizio the gal had me unplug the TV and then hold the power button in for 10 or 15 seconds. That was strange. Didn't fix the loss of audio when we were changing channels on the FIOS but it fixed it so the TV would power off.

Brother points out to me that when I change the channel on the FIOS I am doing just that. The TV stays on the input (we have it on HDMI-3) but it is really the FIOS that is changing the channel. AND LOSING THE AUDIO TOO!

I Googled this and found out it happens with Sony, Panasonic, LG TVs when connected to FIOS. Of course when I called FIOS they told me it was my Vizio. I put my kid bro on the line and let him explain it to them. Comcast is coming next week to help me get rid of the FIOS and get my audio back.

just out of warranty when the tv starts acting strange. When I told the VIZIO tech I would tell everyone not to buy a VIZIO unit he said "I don't blame you". I would like to try to reset it to factory defaults to see if that would work but the tech says there is no way to do that. The only solution offered was to take it to a service center and see it they can fix it. When you pay close to a $1000 for a TV you should expect it to last more that a year and a half. I will not ever, I repeat ever, buy a VIZIO product again.

Wow....I have had extremely frustrating issues dealing with Vizio, as well, but I had to laugh when I read your comment that you wouldnt recommend Vizio to any of your friends, and the guy said "I dont blame you!".....That is EXACTLY what the representative said to me, when I made the same comment!!! LOL VIZIO is absolutely the most flagrant RIP OFF of a company I have EVER had the misfortune of dealing with. Even an extended warranty wouldn't make me change my mind about dealing with them ever again!!!

Yeah, I had a Vizio Blu-ray DVD player, and after the year's warranty it stopped working, too. Nothing lasts any more.

You can only count on it to last the year if you are lucky, and Vizio is complete ***. I would not recommend anyone buying any of their products unless you can get a decent extended warranty and just consider that in with the cost of the product. So, Vizio isn't really that cheap when you add on the extended warranty, and even then it won't last. It will have to be replaced.

Sorry you spent so much money and got so little satisfaction. Most things are *** these days. That's the way corporations like it, so they can make even more money.

It is pretty sad when the product doesn't even last through being obsolete. Products used to last and last way, way beyond warranty.
