Vizio's "Smart" TV is powerfully dumb

Vizio has an absurdly limited number of apps that can be used on its Smart TV. And if it's not on that short list you are out of luck. I have had to purchase a streaming device to watch fairly basic things (eg, HBO GO, PBS). I would not ever buy another Vizio product. I realize this is not a matter of life and death; still, why is Vizio selling a product that they know will not work as a normal consumer expects? No doubt Vizio will argue that the box had some sort of language describing the TV's limited usefulness, but I still see this as offensive and wrong.

TVs have a 1 year manufacturer's warranty. After that if anything goes wrong and you did not buy an extended warranty that is on you.

Neither Best Buy nor Vizio are under any obligation to to fix or replace your TV after the warranty period. In fact Best Buy is under no obligation to do anything after their 15 day return policy, after that it all falls on Vizio and their warranty.

None of my tv apps except netflix will work. Called in to see if the problem could be resolved to no avail. After 3 tv resets and 40 minuts on the phone the issue was not resolved. Then they tell me as of march the apps i was calling about like amazon tv, youtube, and iheart radio were no longer supported on my version of tv except for ihart radio, here it is september and they were working just yesterday.

you'd be able to use this tv without smartcast. vizio is sending out new remotes to replace the useless remotes they sent with smartcast call and have them set it up for you to be put on the list!!!
