All the brands are doing it.POP of death is mostly caused by the capacitors going bad on the main power board.

I ordered a kit from LCDalternative.com $18.00 dollars .Then watched YouTube Video on how to replace them.

It worked. Not hard-try it.Will fix 70% of time.

Don't buy VIZIO

In the last two years, I have bought two VIZIO tv's at Costco. The first was dead right out of the box. Costco graciously accepted the return immediately. The second one failed at 18 months. Costco wouldn't allow me to return it. Vizio (non)seervice said that they would send me a shipping box to return it, and they would give me a reconditioned tv.After waiting three weeks for the shipping box, I called, and they had cancelled and not shipped it. I suggested that they send the new tv, and let return the older one in the same box, saving time and shipping costs. After giving them my credit card tol insure I return the old tv, I am still waiting two weeks for the delivery, although they claim "it's on the truck. Terrible product and service.Never again.

Bought a Vizio is a piece of JUNK

Bought a Vizio TV for my mom who is 89 and can't get around much so TV is her only entertainment - The TV stopped getting reception, we checked against our tv to make sure it was the TV and not the connection, it was the TV. We called Vizio and returned the TV in the origianl box with warrenty information as Vizio said we should when we contacted them. Cost us 35.00 to send it back - they took their time and were very hard to deal with, when we got the TV back same problem - My husband said it looked like they didn't even take the back off and attempt to fix it. We called them - they told us to send it back again and they would send us a brand new TV- so we did- they returned the TV and it was the same one same problem. Called them back and asked the to pay for postage for next time- They refused - we are out 70.00 and all we have is a tv that is good for nothing...it was less than a year old when this happened- we paid over 500.00 for this TV- Will never buy any product of theirs Again!!! LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Bought a Vizio and 4 months later the screen went blank and waited 8 weeks for serviceman to down load new software "Sept 2011" now the screen is blank and I have a blank screen with no sound 6 months later-I'm the warranty has expired and I have to call a service man at my cost-I have owned it for 26 months and 2 of those months I waited on the first repair-I would never buy this brand again

VIZIO REJECTED WARRANTY CLAIM

In December 2009 I bought an HDTV from Vizio, Model 370M. One month later the remote control stopped working, and after various discussions it was eventually replaced. Three months later the TV set stopped working altogether. Vizio denied my claim under the warranty, on the ground that power surges are not covered (there had not been one). I was given the choice to have the set repaired for $250, but I would have to ship it at my expenses to California, or I could have the technician come to my house, in which case the charge would be $390. I bought for $500 a new HDTV set (not Vizio).

VIZIO - BAD PRODUCTS, USELESS WARRANTY

In December 2009 I bought through Amazon a VIZIO HDTV (VA 370 M). It came with one year warranty. In January 2011 I had a problem with the remote. After some haggling, the remote was replaced for free. In March, the TV stopped functioning. It turns out that the warranty excludes anything that has to do with power surges (there had not been one). On that ground, the warranty claim was rejected, and I was given two options: either have an onsite visit, which, including repairs, would have cost $400, or shipping the TV to California, for a cost of $250 plus shipping charges. I decided against the repairs, I bought a larger HDTV (not VIZIO) for $500, and I shall never consioder VIZIO products again.

Vizio products not worth buying

I bought a 32 inch Vizio Plasma HDTV 18 months ago and until recently it worked fine. Then it became harder and harder to power on. It would take as many as 20 tries to power up. Although my warranty was up I was offered a one time in home repair. After 10 customer and support reps nothing has been done. I have been asked to fax my proof of purchase,which I was smart enough to keep, 5 times. Each time they claim that they never got it,even though each fax was confirmed. Now the tv will not power on at all. I have recently read many reviews that described the same or similar problems. I have not gotten anywhere near the service that I should have from this product. I also read that even with the extended warranty,service is still terrible. I will never ever buy another Vizio anything even if this is somehow resolved.

Vizio 50 inch hdtv,

Poor product,Would not recommend, Loses the H.D. channels and will not let you scan for channels if you do not have a signal you also cant change channels without a signal. Its great when it works but that should be all the time but its not. I am thinking of getting a converter box to connect to the analog side of the set so i can view programs without having to wait hours before the set decides to find a signal.Tv is just out of warranty and support said they where really sorry for me.Thank You

Don't buy Vizio tv they don't work after 1 yr

I called vizio because my tv is flickering but, they don't want to repair it unless i ahve my receipt. Don't buy vizio tv's they are bad. When i spoke to the help line person he tried to be nice but what a fool liers they switch u from one person to another or put you on hold for a long time. They try everything thing to make you end the call and not to call back. They have the worst waranty don't buy any vizio tv's trust me you will regret it when ur tv time is up and that is only couple of years.

Do not buy vizio

My husband and I bought a vizio tv within 6 months of purchase the tv no longer had a picture. We went to the store to exchange it under warranty, but with this company you deal with them directly. We had to take time off work for someone to come to our house to try to fix it. It didnt work. We had to take another day off to wait for a delivery of a refurb tv ( total wait was over a month. Now 3 months later the refurb tv loses all HDMI inputs along with sound. They said all we can do is send you apart and take it to only 2 places to get fixed. We did now along with the other things listed we dont have sound. They then said well we can give you another refurb for $400. The price of our tv is now $400 brand new in the store!!! WTF
